This video course examines representative artificial intelligence models and their expanding role in medical decision‑making. Learners will explore the expected benefits, challenges, and inherent limitations of applying artificial intelligence in clinical and scientific contexts. The course also focuses on how quality assurance professionals can leverage an understanding of artificial intelligence models to critically evaluate, contextualize, and interpret artificial intelligence–enhanced medical decision‑making to support safe, effective, and accountable care delivery.

Course/Activity Information

ACCREDITATION & CREDIT
In support of improving patient care, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians
ABQAURP designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses
This activity is designated for 1.5 nursing contact hours.

Osteopathic Physicians
This program is approved for Category 2 credit by the American Osteopathic Association.

Physician Associates
ABQAURP has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until April 30, 2028. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, ABQAURP is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 general continuing education credits.

This course is intended for Physicians, Nurses, and Other Health Care Professionals with appropriate CME / CE credit offered for each profession.

All participants must achieve a final assessment score of at least seventy percent (70%) for recertification and continuing education credits. You have 60 days to complete the course after ordering.

About the Authors:

Allan S. Goldberg, DPM, CHCQM, FABQAURP, D.ABFAS, FAPWCA, CCHP

Dr. Allan S. Goldberg is a Podiatrist currently employed by the Physician Affiliate Group of New York in Correctional Health Services. He is board certified in Foot Surgery, Health Care Quality and Management, Wound Care, and Correctional Health Care. He has previously directed Podiatry Residency Programs and has provided quality assurance advice in the practice of Podiatric Medicine and surgery for many years. He has recently become educationally certified and advanced educationally certified by the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. He is passionate about medical education and has a particular interest in the study of Artificial Intelligence-enhanced medical practice, medical quality assurance, and medical research.
